HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-22-1998MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA MONDAY, JUNE 22, 1998 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m., and on call of the roll those members present were: City Engineer Bob Miller, and Planning and Development Director Jim Urban. Also present were: Vehicle Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton, Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman, Wastewater Treatment Plant Assistant Director Scott Timmerman, Asst. Fire Chief Bill Davis, Animal Shelter Manager Rick Broy, Building Commissioner Larry Decker, Parks Director Rick Elliott, Redevelopment Sec. Donna Kammeyer, Redevelopment Asst. Director Julie Hinton, and Clerk Lyrme Kempf. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Planning and Development Director Jim Urban and carried unanimously. Planning and Development Director Urban made the motion to approve the minutes as presented, seconded by City Engineer Miller, and carded unanimously. CITATION-417 E.MAPLE STREET Building Commissioner Decker made the recommendation that Mr. Muncy be given so many days to get started and finished on the property at 417 E. Maple Street. Director Urban made the motion to instruct Mr. Muncy to start work in 14 days and to have work completed in 60 days or be fined $100.00 per day until work is complete, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carded unanimously. VENDOR PERMIT Shawn James of 218 Martin Circle requested a vendor permit to sell ice cream from a track. Mayor Galligan said he needs a health department permit and a tax ID number. Director Urban made the motion to approve the vendor permit pending his getting a health department permit and a tax ID number, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. BUCKETS PARKING Scott Halre, who is part owner of Buckets Bar and Grill requested 2 hour parking signs be put up along Watt Street in front of Buckets. Director Urban made the motion to approve the 2 hour parking signs, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. INTER-CITY ROAD CLAIM Redevelopment Secretary Donna Kammeyer asked the Board to approve a claim to Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz for Planning and Design on the Allison Lane improvements in the amount of $3,750.00. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the claim for $3,750.00, seconded by Director Urban and carried unanimously. SERENITY COURT City Engineer Miller said he has looked at Serenity Court and approves of dedicating it. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the dedication of Serenity Court, seconded by Director Urban and carried unanimously. NORTHAVEN RAILROAD TRACKS Mayor Galligan said that stop signs are needed at the railroad tracks in Northaven. City Engineer Miller said they would be installed. Mayor Galligan also asked that patrols be stepped up in the area for speed control. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, Director Urban made the motion to adjourn at 10:10 a.m., seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
