Galllgan, called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M., and on call of the roll those members present were: City Engineer Bob Miller,and Planning and Development Director Urban. Also present were~ City Attorney Anne Marie Galligan,City Engineer Bob Miller, Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman, Parks Superintendent Rick Elllott, Fire Chief Mike Smith, Police Captain Dan Rodden, Building Commissioner Pinkston, Wastewater Treatment Plant Director Scott Timmerman, EMC Assistant Kevin Wright, Vehicle Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton, and Clerk Lynne Kempf. Director Urban made the motion to approve the minutes of 12/22/97 and 12/29/97 as presented, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. Director Urban made the motion to take these bids under advisement~ seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unamlmously. CARNEGIE LIBRARY City Attorney Galligan said the Board has previously accepted and signed a contract for work to be performed on the Carnegie Library. Wayne Estoplnal of the Estopinal Group recommended a Change Order to allow old paint to be removed and primer and new paint for an additional $29,130.00 added to the contract making the total contract $130,301.00. The work is to be performed by Steinrock Roofing. Director Urban made the motion to approve the Change Order, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. PAGE JANUARY 1998 RESOLUTION City Attorney Galligan asked the Board to approve the resolution for the Sewage salarles with amendments. ' City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the Sewage Salary resolution with amendments, seconded by Director Urban and carried unanimously.(see Resolution 98-1, attached) MALLARD RUN City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve 18 street lights the 2nd and 3rd Sections of Mallard Run, seconded by Dlrector Urban and carried unanimously. APPROVAL OF MEDICAL CLAIMS Director Urban made the motion to approve paying up to $1,100.00 for miscellaneous medical claims for city employees considered by the Board in it's duly advertised executive session held immediately before this meeting,seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. CITATION Building Commissioner Pinkston said Kevin Abrahamson who owns property at 639 Main Street and who was cited previously, has not gotten his property cleaned up. Building Commissioner Pinkston asked the Board to approve a fine of $100.00 a week for 2 weeks beginning this date of January 5, 1998. If Mr. Abrahamson can get the work done in 14 days starting this date, the fine will be waived. For the next two weeks, the fine will be S200.00 per week. For any additional time Mr. Abrahamson is in violation, the fine is $250.00 per week. Mr. Abrahamson will be sent a certified letter informing him of this. Director Urban made the motion to approve the fine, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. r~.GE 4 JANUARY 5~ 1995 SALARY INCREASE City Engineer Miller requested a raise for one of his operators to S13.00 per hour. Director Urban made the motion to table this request until next week, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
