A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING COMMITTEE
TO PLAN CITY'S BI-CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville was established in the yem' 1802.
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville will celebrate its bi-centennial in the year 2002.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville believes it is important to
celebrate the city's heritage and history.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Jeffersonville, that the city shall celebrate its bi-centennial in the y ear 2002 with various activities
highlighting the city's heritage and history.
IT IS FURTHER .RESOLVED, that a seven (7) person committee shall be established to
organize and plan the bi-centennial celebration including fund raising for the celebration.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that the committee shall be known as the Bi-centennial
Committee and shall consist of four (4) persons appointed by the Common Council, and three (3)
persons appointed by the Mayor.
