JEFFERSONVILLE, iNDIANA MONDAY, OCTOBER 11, 1999
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m., and on call of the roll those members
present were: Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman and City Engineer Bob Miller.
Also present were: Fire Chief Mike Smith, Building Commissioner Larry Decker, Planning and
Development Director Jana Ecker, Personnel Director Ellis, Officer Rodden, Vehicle
Maintenance Supervisor Ewton, Animal Control Officer Henderson, Wastewater Treatment Plant
Director Traylor, Assistant Director of Redevelopment Duggins, City Attorney Galligan, and
Clerk Lynne Mayfield.
Manager Goldman made the motion to approve the the minutes of 10-4-99 as presented,
seconded by Engineer Miller and carded unanimously.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Manager
Goldman and carried unanimously.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the claims as presented, seconded by Manager
Goldman and carded unanimously.
CREEKSTONE RIDGE DETENTION BASIN
City Attorney Galligan said she has spoken with the attorney's for the Creekstone Ridge
developers and they have no problem with waiting until their improvements are completed
before being accepted.
WHAYNE SUPPLY
City Attorney Galligan said she has looked over the Asphalt Roller bid from Whayne Supply and
it includes all the necessary forms and recommends approval. The bid was for $82,431.25.
Manager Goldman made the motion to approve the bid of $82,431.25 from Whayne Supply,
seconded by Engineer Miller and carded unanimously.
BARNES AND THORNBERG
City Attorney Galligan said she has received notice from the State Revolving Fund that the
request for revolving fund loan has been approved so we need to begin work of issuing a bond,
with Barnes and Thomberg representing the city. Attorney Galligan said Barnes and Thomberg
have represented the city on previous bonds for the sewer department that were recently issued.
She said this bond is actually part of that same issue, just another series. Engineer Miller made
the motion to approve Barnes and Thomberg to represent the city of Jeff for the sewage bonds,
seconded by Manager Goldman and carried unanimously.
HALLOWEEN DOWNTOWN
Parks Supt. Elliott asked the Board to approve closing Spring Street between Court Avenue and
Market street on Monday, October 25th from 5-8:30 p.m. for Halloween Downtown. Manager
Goldman made the motion to approve the closure on Spring Street between Court Avenue and
Market Street on October 25th from 5-8:30 p.m., seconded by Engineer Miller and carried
unanimously.
TRICK OR TREAT
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve Saturday, October 30th, from 6-9 p.m. for Trick or
Treat night, seconded by Manager Goldman and carried unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, Engineer
Miller made the motion to adjourn at 9:50 a.m., seconded by Manager Goldman and carded
unanimously.
