JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA MONDAY, SEPT. 13, 1999
In Mayor Galligan's absence, Sewage Manager Goldman sat in and called the meeting to order
at 9:30 a.m., and on call of the roll those members present were: Police ChiefPavey and
Building Commissioner Decker sitting in for City Engineer Bob Miller, and Sewage Office
Manager Bob Goldman.
Also present were: Fire Chief Mike Smith, Building Commissioner Lany Decker, Personnel
Director Ellis, Planning and Development Director Jana Ecker, Safety Director Grant, Animal
Control Officer Henderson, Parks Supt. Elliott, Police Chief Pavey, Assistant Director of
Redevelopment Duggins, City Attorney Galligan, and Clerk Lynne Mayfield.
Building Commissioner Decker made the motion to approve the the minutes of 8-30-99 as
presented, seconded by Police Chief Pavey and carded unanimously.
Police Chief Pavey made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Building
Commissioner Decker and carded unanimously.
K OF C BLOCK DANCE
Building Commissioner Decker said that the K of C would like approval of their annual Block
Dance on Saturday, September 25th, 1999 from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight. The proceeds of the
dance go to the "Shop with a Cop" program. Police Chief Pavey made the motion to approve the
block dance for September 25, 1999 from 8:00 to 12:00, seconded by Building Commissioner
Decker and carried unanimously.
LOUISVILLE-iNDIANA RAILROAD
City Attorney Galligan said we had a request from Louisville and Indiana Railroad to purchase
some property on the new animal shelter property for an economic development project. The
property has been appraised by two appraisers. One is for $50,000.00 for a two acre parcel and
the other is $60,600.00 for a two acre parcel. City Attorney Galligan recommended the Board
authorize the Mayor and City Attorney to negotiate the transfer of this property. Building
Commissioner Decker made the motion to authorize the Mayor and City Attorney to negotiate
the sale and transfer of the property to Louisville and Indiana Railroad, seconded by Police Chief
Pavey and carded unanimously.
INTER-CITY ROAD CLAIMS
Asst. Director of Redevelopment Duggins requested that the Board approve 2 claims for the
Inter-City Road Project for right of ways. One claim is in the amount of $4,960.00 to William D.
White and the other claim is for $5,200.00 to Baird Realty. Police Chief Pavey made the motion
to approve the two claims, seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and carded
unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, Police
Chief Pavey made the motion to adjourn at 9:50 a.m., seconded by Building Commissioner
Decker and carried unanimously.
