JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA MONDAY, AUGUST 16, 1999
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m., and on call of the roll those members
present were: City Engineer Bob Miller, and Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman.
Also present were: Fire Chief Mike Smith, Street Commissioner Bobby Ervin, Building
Commissioner Larry Decker, Wastewater Treatment Plant Director Traylor, Personnel Director
Ellis, Safety Director Grant, Animal Control Officer Henderson, Vehicle Maintenance
Supervisor Ewton, Parks Secretary Langdon, Lieutenant Craig, Assistant Director of
Redevelopment Duggins, and Clerk Lynne Ma) field.
TENT REVIVAL
Parks Secretary Jackie Langdon said the Temple of Christ Church had requested permission to
hold a tent revival at Lansden Park on September 1-4, 1999. Engineer Miller made the motion to
approve the tent revival at Lansden Park, seconded by Manager Goldman and carried
unanimously.
STREET CLOSURE
Tabby Toby asked the Board to approve closing Court Avenue off the Clark Bridge on
September 18th from 9:00 a.m. till 10:00 a.m. for the American Heart Association walk.
Manager Goldman made the motion to approve the closure, seconded by Engineer Miller and
carried unanimously.
DEWATERING WELL
Wastewater Treatment Plant Asst. Director Traylor received two quotes on the Dewatering Well
Pump. He asked the Board to approve the low quote from Metzger Electric for $6,902.00. The
other quote was from Jim McNay for $7,000.00. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve
Metzger Electric's quote of $6,902.00, seconded by Manager Goldman and carded unanimously.
STREET CLOSURE
Fire Chief Smith asked the Board to approve closing Douglas Drive between McArthur Drive
and Highway 62 on Sunday, August 22, 1999 for fire maneuvers. Manager Goldman made the
motion to approve the closure, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, Engineer
Miller made the motion to adjourn at 10:00 a.m., seconded by Manager Goldman and carded
unanimously.
