HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-14-1999MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA MONDAY, JUNE 14, 1999 In the absence of Mayor Galligan, Sewage Office Manager Goldman called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m., and on call of the roll those members present were: Building Commissioner Decker sitting in for City Engineer Bob Miller, and Street Commissioner Ervin sitting in for Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman. Also present were: Fire Chief Mike Smith, Street Commissioner Bobby Ervin, Building Commissioner Larry Decker, Wastewater Treatment Plant Director Traylor, Personnel Director Ellis, Planning and Development Director Jana Ecker, Safety Director Palmer, Police Chief Pavey, Animal Control Officer Henderson, and Clerk Lyune Kempf. Street Commissioner Ervin made the motion to approve the minutes of 6-1-99 and 6-3-99 as presented, seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and carded unanimously. Street Commissioner Ervin made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and carded unanimously. 19 CENTER STREET Building Commissioner Decker brought this up last week in regards to the swimming pool and debris in the backyard. Building Commissioner Decker has sent a 30 day notice to clean up the yard and dispose of the pool. Building Commissioner Decker will do an inspection this week and make plans to remove the pool and debris if it hasn't been done at the time of inspection. Street Commissioner Ervin made the motion to approve the inspection and bring back a recommendation next Monday, seconded by Manager Goldman and earried unanimously. 639 MAIN STREET Street Commissioner Ervin made the motion to table this item until next Monday, seconded by Manager Goldman and carded unanimously. KIDSDANCE Erin O'Keefe of the Haven House Services asked the Board to approve blocking off Colonial Drive on June 25th from 5:00 p.m. till 11:00 p.m. for a kid's dance. Street Commissioner Ervin made the motion to approve the dance on June 25th from 5-11 p.m., seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and carded unanimously. RATIFICATION OF REQUEST FOR BIDS Street Commissioner Ervin made the motion to approve the taking of bids for a dozer, seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and carried unanimously. COMMONWEALTH ENGINEERS Street Commissioner Ervin made the motion to approve the General Services Agreement for Professional Engineering Services for Commonwealth Engineers, seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and carded unanimously. DESIGN PROPOSAL Street Commissioner Ervin made the motion to approve the Design Proposal for Pleasant Run Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Phase 2, seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and can/ed unanimously. SEWER DISTRICT PETITION Street Commissioner Ervin made the motion to approve Authorization of#1999-1 to assist with the City's Response to Clark Co.'s Petition for Regulating the Sewer District, seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and carded unanimously, with the hearing being on 6-21-99, seconded by Manager Goldman and carded unanimously. 2100 COOPER LANE Planning and Zoning Director Ecker asked that the Board table this item until next week. Street Commissioner Ervin made the motion to table this item until next week, seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and carried unanimously. 205 MAGNOLIA AVENUE Nellie Knowland siad there are limbs needing to be picked up at 205 Magnolia Avenue. Street Commissioner Ervin said it would be taken care of. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, Street Commissioner Ervin made the motion to adjourn at 9:50 a.m., seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and carried unanimously.
