SEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA MONDAY, JUNE 3, 1999
In the absence of Mayor Galligan Deputy Mayor McCauley called the special meeting to order
at 9:30 a.m., and on call of the roll those members present were: City Engineer Bob Miller, and
Sewage Office Manager Goldman.
Also present were: City Attomey Galligan, and Clerk Lyrme Kempf.
CONFIRMING RESOLUTION TO CONDEMN PROPERTY
City Attorney Galligan reminded the Board that it had previously passed Resolution #99-R~2
condemning a Roadway, Sewer, Drainage and Utility easement across land owned by Luther
James on Utica-Sellersburg Road. She informed the Board that the notices required by IND.
Code 32-11-1.5-3 had been published in the Evening News stating that remonstrances to this
condemnation would be heard at this meeting. Noting that no remonstrances were present,
Attorney Galligan asked the Board to adopt a resolution confirming the condemnation. A list will
be prepared of people affected by the condemnation as required by IC 32-11-1.5-4. Manager
Goldman made the motion to confirm the condemnation, seconded by Engineer Miller and
carried unanimously.
CHRISTIAN APPALACHIAN PROJECT
City Attorney Galligan said a request has been made for the Christian Appalachian Project to
gather on the Riverfront on Thursday, July 15th fxom 6:30-9:30 p.m. for a picnic. The event is to
be held to honor and celebrate the work of founder Rev. Ralph Belting. Manager Goldman made
the motion to approve the use of the Riverfront for this event, seconded by Engineer Miller and
carried unanimously.
RATIFICATION OF AGREEMENT
City Attorney Galligan asked the Board to ratify the Agreement regarding removal of the islands
on Nole Drive in Buttonwood. There is not room to pass through if a car is parked on the street.
The owners did not want to remove the islands at their expense. They have agreed to let the City
remove the islands. Engineer Miller made the motion to ratify the Agreement to remove the
Buttonwood Islands, seconded by Manager Goldman and carded unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, City
Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn at 9:50 AM seconded by Manager Goldman and
carried unanimously.
