HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-05-1999 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA MONDAY, APRIL 5, 1999 In the absence of Mayor Galligan Sewage Office Manager Goldman called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m., and on call of the roll those members present were: City Engineer Bob Miller, Street Commissioner Ervin, sitting in for Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman. Also present were: Vehicle Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton, Wastewater Treatment Plant Director Jim Traylor, Fire Chief Mike Smith, Street Commissioner Bobby Ervin, Animal Shelter Control Officer William Henderson, Building Commissioner Larry Decker, Police Chief Mike Pavey, Safety Director John Palmer, and Clerk Lynne Kempf. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the claims as presented, seconded by Street Commissioner Ervin and carded unanimously. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Street Commissioner Ervin and carded unanimously. SEVERE WEATHER WARNING SYSTEM Harold Plummer, the Disaster Warning Services Director asked the Board to approve obtaining some type of weather di. saster warning system. A fund will be established for this. Engineer Miller made the motion to give authorization for Harold Plummer to obtain a weather disaster warning system and start a fund for this, seconded by Street Commissioner Ervin and carried unanitnously. Mr. Plummer also handed out information on Y2K issues. I903 J~Y COURT Police Chief Pavey recommended a resident only parking sign at 1903 Joy Court. Street Commissioner E~win made the motion to approve the resident only parking sign, seconded by Engineer Miller and carded unanimously. STREET L!GHT Street Commissioner Ervin made the motion to approved a street light on Brim Drive, seconded by Engir~.eer Miller and carded unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, City Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn at 9:45 AM seconded by Street Commissioner Ervin and carried unanimously.
