HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-11-1999MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE. INDIANA MONDAY. MARCH 1. 1999 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:45 a.m.. and on call of the roll those members present were: City Engineer Bob Miller, and Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman. Also present were: Building Commissioner Larry Decker. Planning Director Jana Ecker, Safety Director John Palmer, Wastewater Trealxnent Director Traylor. Vehicle Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton. Street Commissioner Bobby Ervin. Fire Chief Mike Smith. Animal Control Officer Henderson. Police Lieutenant Craig, Parks Supt. Elliott. City Attorney Anne Made Galligan,and Clerk Lynne Kemp£ Sewage Office Manager Goldman made the motion to approve the minutes of 2-22-99 as presented, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Sewage Office Manager Goldman and carded unanimously. Sewage Office Manager Goldman made the motion to approve the claims as presented, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carded unanimously. UTICA-SELLERSBURG BID John Toombs of Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz reported that the iow bidder on the Utica-Sellersburg Sewer is Cristiani Excavating. The amount of the bid was $I,074,560.00. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the bid of Cristiani Excavating for $1,074,560.00, seconded by Sewage Office Manager Goldman and carried unanimously. REMC CONTRACT John Toombs of Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz recommended that the Board approve the agreement between REMC and the Jeff Sewer Dept. Manager Goldman made the motion to approve the agreement between REMC and the Sewer Dept. for $158.44 per month for 30 months, seconded by Engineer Miller and carded unanimously. OPTIONS ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM Diane Muller spoke to the Board in regards to the Options Alternative Program., She said the program is designed to help kids who have had problems in the traditional schools and to hopefully help them with the future. RESIDENT ONLY PARKING Mayor Galligan asked Lieutenant Craig to check out the location of Donna Kaelin of 307 Pearl Street for a resident only parking sign. TAP-IN PERMIT SeWage Manager Goldman said that Charles Small Of 2907 Hwy. 62 is requesting to finance a tap-in fee. Manager Goldman made the motion to approve the tap-in to be financed over 5 years, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. GIS MEETING Planning and Zoning Director Ecker reported the Board that on March 8th, at 1:30 p.m. Andrew Harrison will be here to give information to the department heads on GIS. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, City Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn at 10:00 a.m., seconded by Sewage Office Manager Goldman and carded unanimously.
