JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 1999
In Mayor Galligan's absence, Sewage Office Manager Goldman called the meeting to order at
9:30 a.m., and on call of the roll those members present were: City Engineer Bob Miller, and
Police Chief Pavey filled in for Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman.
Also present were: Building Commissioner Larry Decker, Police Chief Mike Pavey, Wastewater
Treatment Director Traylor, Vehicle Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton, Pla~ing and Zoning
Director Jana Ecker, Personnel Director Jen-ylyn Ellis, Safety Director John Palmer, Animal
Shelter Asst. Manager Rick Broy, City Attorney Galligan, and Clerk Lyune Kempf.
City Engineer Miller made the motion t° approve the minutes of 2-8-99 as presented, seconded
by Police ChiefPavey and canied unanimously.
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Police
ChiefPavey and carri,ed unanimously.
INDIANA GAS
City Engineer Miller met with Indiana Gas in regards to disposing of an underground pit at Court
and Fulton Street and installing a set up valve box structure. Engineer Miller made the motion to
approve this project, seconded by Police Chief Pavey and carded unanimously.
CITATION
Planning and Development Director Ecker spoke to the Board in regards to Emie's Car Lot. She
said that junk, untagged cars are being parked there. Director Ecker sent a letter to him on
January 21, 1999. At this time she was told by the car lot owner that he would have the cars
removed in 30 days. Director Ecker has checked since then and the cars have not been removed.
City Attorney recommended that the Board issue an order for Building Commissioner Decker to
sticker the cars. City Engineer Miller made the motion to issue an order for Building
Commissioner Decker to sticker the untagged, inoperable cars, seconded by Police Chief Pavey
and carded unanimously.
BITUMINouS BIDS
Listed below are the accepted bituminous bidders:
Gohmann Asphalt-paving
Liter's Quarry-stone
Jackson Jennings-fuel
Asphalt Supply-blacktop
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the above listed bidders, seconded by Police
Chief Pavey and carried unanimously. (Bidders and bid amounts are in the Clerk-Treasurer's
office.)
City Engineer Miller made the motion to reject the cold patch bid that was received from
Sellersburg Stone, seconded by Police Chief Pavey and carded unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, Police
Chief Pavey made the motion to adjourn at 9:50 a.m., seconded by City Engineer Miller and
carried unanimously.
