OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE
REGARDING A PAYMENT IN LIEU OF TAXATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN
JEFFERSONVILLE URBAN ENTERPRISE ZONE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville has authorized
participation in the Indiana Enterprise Zone Program through Resolution 99R-31, and
WHEREAS, through said ResolutiOn the Common council also authorized the
creation of the Jeffersonville Urban Enterprise Association, and
WHEREAS, the Jeffersonville Urban Enterprise Assomanon has adopted
Three-Year Strategic Plan to promote the redevelopment of the Jeffersonville Urban
Enterprise Zone; and
WHEREAS, in order to fund the annual operation and programs of urban
enterprise association, Indiana code authorizes the Common council to set an assessment
rate in lieu of taxation which each participating business must pay the urban enterprise
association; and
WHEREAS, the Jeffersonville Urban Enterprise Zone Association has proposed
an assessment rate of 49% of for the calendar year 2001 operating budget; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council agrees that said rate is necessary to fund the
operations and programs of the Jeffersonville Urban Emerprise Association in calendar
year 2001;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Jeffersonville Urban Enterprise
Zone participation assessment rate for calendar year 2001 is hereby set at 49%.
