OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
JANUARY 14, 2002
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
Were: City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Waiz who is replacing Councilperson Frantz.
Also present were: Building Commissioner Bill Gavin, Personnel Director Ellis, Engineering
Coordinator Dixon, Police ChiefPavey, Animal Shelter Director Keller, Wastewater Treatment Director
Crawford, Safety Director Rodden, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Redevelopment Director
Duggins, Administrator Rich Davis, Asst. Fire Chief Bill Davis, Mayor's Asst. White, and Clerk Lynne
Mayfield.
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson
Waiz and carried unanimously.
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 12-17-01 and 1-7-02 as presented,
seconded by Councilperson Waiz and carried unanimously.
CITATION-2008 BLUEBIRD DRIVE
Building Commissioner Gavin cited Dwayne and Gina Phillips to the Board of Public Works and Safety
in regard to cleaning up their property at 2008 Bluebird Drive. The Phillips did not show. They have
been cited previously and did not appear. Engineer Miller made the motion to have the property cleaned
up by the City and and the cost placed as a lien against the Phillips' property, seconded by
Councilperson Waiz and carried unanimously.
PROMOTIONS
Police ChiefPavey asked the Board to approve promotions for seven police officers. (Copy attached)
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the promotions effective January 15, 2002, seconded by
Councilperson Waiz and carried unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board the motion was made by Engineer Miller to
adjourn at/l~0:20 a.m. ~c%nded by Councilperson Waiz and carried unanimously.

Sergeant Garry Pavey to the rank of Lieutenant
Sergeant David Marble to the rank of Lieutenant
Corporal ~ark Lovan to the rank of Sergeant
Corporal Kenny Kavanaugh to the rank of Sergeant
Corporal Robert McGhee to the rank of Sergeant
The above officers completed the written test, oral board, and chief's
interview and ranked in the top three. The vacancies in the ranks are
due to recent retirements. I am requesting an effective date of
January 15, 2002.
