HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-11-2000MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA DECEMBER 11, 2000 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M., and on call of the roll those members present were: City Engineer Bob Miller, and Councilperson Frantz. Also present were: Building Commissioner Larry Decker, Safety Director Rodden, Redevelopment Director Duggins, Planning and Zoning Director Ecker, Street Commissioner Grant, Asst. Wastewater Treatment Plant Director Wilkey, Animal Shelter Director Keller, Parks Superintendent Elliott, Police Chief Pavey, Fire Chief Mike Smith, City Attorney Anne Galligan, and Clerk Treasurer Peggy Wilder. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the claims and payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. ~WH~E Fire Chief Smith asked the Board to approve hiring Josh Kempf as a firefighter to replace Don Davidson who has retired. Councilperson Frantz made the motion to approve hiring Josh Kempf, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. LIGHT AT SPRINGDALE Engineer Miller said he checked the light at 8th St. and Springdale Drive. He said it needs a new chip to keep the red light from changing so quickly. He will investigate the cost. LEASE AGREEMENT Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the lease agreement for 2001 Case Turbo Loader Backhoe/Extendahoe, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. RESOLUTION City Attorney Galligan said a resolution to condemn the Jeffersonville Christian Church easement is no longer necessary as the City has purchased the property. MRS. LOWERY Mrs. Lowery who resides on Holman's Lane appeared before the Board in regard to a Magnolia tree she said was removed when the sewer was put in. Mayor Galligan said he believes the tree was in the right of way. Mrs. Lowery also wants her property line comers replaced. Mayor Galligan said he'd have someone check into it. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, City Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn at 9:55 A.M., seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
