HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-16-2000MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA OCTOBER 16, 2000 In Mayor Galligan's absence, City Engineer Miller called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M., and on call of the roll those members present were: Councilperson Frantz and Building Commissioner Decker sitting in for Engineer Miller. Also present were: Wastewater Treatment Director Traylor, Vehicle Maintenance Fore Mike Ewton, Safety Director Rodden, Animal Shelter Director Keller, Parks Director Rick Elliott, Police Chief Mike Pavey, Street Commissioner Grant, Personnel Director Ellis, Fire Chief Mike Smith, Asst. Wastewater Treatment Dir. Wilkey, and Clerk Lynne Mayfield. Councilperson Frantz made the motion to approve the minutes of 10-2-00, seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and carried unanimously. Councilperson Frantz made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and carried unanimously. YOUR HOME Dale Griffith appeared before the Board to request approval to hold an anniversary celebration on October 25, 2000 in the Bank One parking lot on Wednesday, October 25, 2000 on behalf of his business at 426 Spring Street called "Your Home". Councilperson Frantz made the motion to approve the celebration, seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and carried unanimously. CLARK CO. SPECIAL OLYMPICS e Sandefur asked the Board to approve a roadblock on October 21, 2000 at Ice Cream Willie's and at Court and Spring Streets from 9:00 to 3:00 p.m. for Special Olympics. Councilperson Frantz made the motion to approve the roadblock on 10-21-00, seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and carried unanimously. SPEED LIMIT SIGNS Engineer Miller said he's had a request to lower the speed limit on Nole Drive. Street Commissioner Grant will look into this. WATER TRUCK Engineer Miller said that he and Mayor Galligan went to look at a Mack water truck. He said it is in very good condition and will be bought on a two year lease. Councilperson Frantz made the motion to approve purchasing the water truck on a two year lease, seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, Councilperson Frantz made the motion to adjourn at 9:45 a.m., seconded by Building Commissioner Decker and carded unanimously.
