Maintenance Fore Mike Ewton, Safety Director Rodden, Planning and Zoning Director Jana Ecker, Animal Also present were: Building Commissioner Larry Decker, Wastewater Treatment Director Traylor, Vehicle Shelter Director Keller, Parks Director Rick Elliott, Police Chief Mike Pavey, City Attorney Anne Marie Galligan, Street Commissioner Grant, Personnel Director Ellis, Fire Chief Mike Smith, Asst. Wastewater Treatment Dir. Wilkey, and Clerk Lynne Mayfield. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 9-25-00, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. AUGUSTA DRIVE Marianna Torres spoke to the Board in regard to people speeding in her neighborhood. She lives on Augusta Drive and wanted to know what could be done about the speeding problem. Mayor Galligan said speeding is a problem all over Jeffersonville. He said a 25 m.p.h, speed limit sign can be put up. GERALDO RIVERA Councilperson Frantz made the motion to renew a solicitor's permit for Mr. Rivera, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. HALLOWEEN IN DOWNTOWN Parks Superintendent Elliott asked the Board to approve closing Spring Street from Court Ave. to Market Street on October 30, 2000 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for Halloween In Downtown. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the closure, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. TRICK OR TREAT Parks Superintendent Elliott asked the Board to approve Trick or Treat night for Tuesday, October 31, 2000 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve October 31, 2000 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve October 31, 2000 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. as Trick or Treat night, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. STORM SEWER EASEMENT City Attorney Galligan said that Sacred Heart Church needs to run a storm sewer line across property owned by the City. She asked the Board to approve executing an easement to be recorded to put the public on notice of the existence of the storm sewer line. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the exeCution of the easement to be recorded, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. HOPKINS PLACE City Attorney Galligan told the Board that all the steps have been taken as required to dispose of the piece of property known as Hopkins Place. She said bid notice was advertised but no bids have been received. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, City Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn t 9:50 a. ., s~conded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
