A RESOLUTION FOR PAYMENT OF BENEFITS DIRECTLY TO ESTATE OF
DECEASED EMPLOYEE FROM THE 1925 POLICE AND FIRE PENSION FUND

WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville has become aware that there are times that
there is no qualified or named beneficiary to receive pension benefits under the 1925 Police and Fire
Pension Act.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jetfersonville has the authority under Indiana Law to
govern the administration of the 1925 Police and Fire Pension Fund.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville believes it is in the best interest of the
employees of the City of Jeffersonville employed under the 1925 Police and Fire Pension Fund that said
benefits should be Paid regardless of a qualified or named beneficiary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CiTY OF
JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA that the pension benefits including interest under the 1925 Police and Fire
Pension Act shall be paid directty to the estate of the deceased employee in compliance with the Indiana
Probate Laws in the event that there is no qualified or named beneficiary to receive said benefits.
