HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-31-2000MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA JULY 31, 2000 In Mayor Galligan's absence, Engineer Miller called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M., and on call of the roll those members present were: Street Commissioner Grant sitting in for City Engineer Bob Miller, and Councilperson Frantz. Also present were: Building Commissioner Larry Decker, Wastewater Treatment Director Traylor, Redevelopment Assistant Director Duggins, Police Chief Pavey, Fire Chief Mike Smith, Animal Shelter Director Keller, Parks Superintendent Elliott, and Clerk Lynne Mayfield. Councilperson Frantz made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Street Commissioner Grant and carried unanimously. Councilperson Frantz made the motion to approve the minutes of July 3,10, and 17, 2000 as presented, seconded by Street Commissioner Grant and carried unanimously. LOYAL ORDER OF MOOSE Doug Dobson appeared before the Board requesting permission to have an outdoor party on August 12, 2000 behind the Moose Lodge from 7 p.m. till 11 p.m. Police ChiefPavey said he sees no problem with this. Councilperson Frantz made the motion to approve the outdoor party, seconded by Street Commissioner Grant and carried unanimously. RESIDENT PARKING Engineer Miller said Kevin Mattingly of 226 E. Park Place has requested a resident only parking sign. Police ChiefPavey will check the location. AEGON INSURANCE GROUP Dan Spencer appeared before the Board asking to participate in open enrollment with the city. He said he has spoken with Personnel Director Ellis. Street Commissioner Grant made the motion to table this until Mr. Spencer has spoken with the Clerk Treasurer on this matter. FIRE DEPT. POLICY Fire Chief Smith presented the 2 IN/2 OUT policy book to the Board for approval. Street Commissioner Grant made the motion to approve the policy, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carded unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, Councilperson Frantz made the motion to adjourn at 9:55 A.M., seconded by Street Commissioner Grant and carried unanimously.
