JEFFERSONVILLE. INDIANA MONDAY. MAY 1. 2000
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m., and on call of the roll those members
present were: City Engineer Bob Miller. and Councilperson Denny Franz.
Also present were: Vehicle Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton. Wastewater Treatment Plant
Director Jim Traylor. Fire Chief Mike Smith. Animal Shelter Control Officer William
Henderson. Building Commissioner Larry Decker. Pla~ming and Zoning Director Jana Ecker,
Parks Supt. Elliott. Safety Director Rodden, Manager Goldman. Asst. Redevelopment Director
Duggins, Assistant Wastewater Treatment Plant Director Wilkey, Personnel Director Ellis,
Councilperson Ellis, and Clerk Lynne Ma5 field.
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by
Councilperson Franz and carried unanimously.
City Engineer Miller made the morion to approve the minutes of 4-17-00, seconded by
Councilperson Franz and carried unanimously.
BURN OUT
Gerald King, a member of the E1 Nino Motorcycle Club asked the Board's approval to have a
"Bum Out" party on May 13th from 12:00 to 9:30 p.m. at Lansden Park. The actual burnout will
be from 6-8 p.m. Mayor Galligan said he would have to check with the residents and make sure
they didn't have a prob.~em with it. This event will be decided on at a later meeting.
RESIDENT PARKING
Manager Goldman said that Gall Suell requested a resident only parking stgn at 219 Pearl Street.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the residenl only parking sign with $i00.00 fee.
seconded by Councilperson Franz and carried unanimously.
TAP-IN
Ken Mahoney of Can' Circle requested approval of 2 tap-ins m be financed. Engineer Miller
made the motion to approve the 2 financed tap-ins, seconded by Councilpersun Franz and carried
unanimously.
NOV
Wastewater Treatment Plant Assistant Director Wilkey told the Board that Galv-Pro exceeded
their PH allowance and recommends a fine and written report. Engineer Miller made the motion
to approve the Notice of Violation. a $i00.00 fine, and a written explanation of why the
cxceedence occurred_ seconded by Councilperson Franz and carried unanimously.
JET TRUCK REPA!R
Wastewater Treatment Plant Asst. Director Wilkey told the Board that the tank needs to be
repaired on the jet truck along with hoses and gauges replaced at a cost of $10.417.00. Engineer
Miller made the motion to table t?fis for one week. seconded by Councilperson Franz and cart/ed
unanimously.
WELL IMPROVEMENTS
Wastewater Treatment Plant Director Traylor asked the Board to approve Layne Christensen Co.
to do the improvement on 2 ~vells and work on the old dewater~ng wells at a cost of $14.557.35.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve Layne Christensen to de the necessmTv work on the
wells for $14.557.35, seconded by Councilperson Franz and carried unanimously.
REQUEST FOR RESOLUTION S
Attorney Dm~ Moore requested cop~es of the Board of Public Works 2000-4. 2000-5, and 2000-6
Resolutions pertaining to the Kleinert Condemnation. He also requested a copy of the BPW
taped minutes of 4-24-00. which Clerk Lynne Mayfield said she would supply for him.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, City
Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn at [0:45 AM seconded by Councilperson Franz and
carried unanimously.
