MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
DECEMBER 17, 2001
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
were: Councilperson Frantz and City Engineer Miller.
Also present were: Safety Director Rodden, Personnel Director Ellis, Wastewater Treatment Director
Crawford, Administrator Rich Davis, Fire Chief Smith, Police Chief Pavey, Animal Shelter Clerk
Gartleman, Mayor Assistant White, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Parks Superintendent Elliott,
and Deputy Clerk Lynne Mayfield.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by
Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.

RESIDENT PARKING
Safety Director Rodden will check out the location at 715 E. Seventh Street and report back to the
Board.
FUNDRAISER
Mary Jane Maytum appeared before the Board to ask permission to hold a roadblock to raise
money to help fund adoption of a baby. She said she and her husband have saved about
$11,000.00 but need $6,000.00 more. She said she, her husband, and the members of her
church would be working the roadblocks for one day for 4 hours. Mayor Galligan told Mrs.
Maytum to contact the City Attorney in regard to insurance matters.
VACATING OF EASEMENT
David Krebs, who lives on Rudy Drive asked the Board to approve vacating a utility
easement. Engineer Miller made the motion to table this request so that he can review it and
report back at the next meeting, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.

Engineer Miller made the motion to approve scheduling the next Board of Public Works meeting for
January 2, 2002, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board the motion was made by Councilperson
Frantz to adjourn at 9:50 a.m., seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
