HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-19-2001 • MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA NOVEMBER 19, 2001 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: Councilperson Frantz and City Engineer Miller. Also present were: Safety Director Rodden, Personnel Director Ellis, Wastewater Treatment Director Dixon, Animal Shelter Director Keller, Administrator Rich Davis, Police Chief Pavey, Building Commissioner Gavin, Street Commissioner Grant, Parks Director Elliott, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Wastewater Collection Supervisor Wright, and Deputy Clerk Lynne Mayfield. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 11-5-01 and 11-13-01 as presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. MISTLETOE SALES Ron Long appeared before the Board in regard to selling mistletoe at Exit 4 by Thornton's. Mayor Galligan told him that location is in Clarksville. Mr. Long said he would continue to sell at his former location on Eastern Boulevard. TELEPHONE CONTRACTS Rich Davis asked the Board to approve four telephone contracts with Ameritech. The contracts are for three years at $378.00 per month per station for networking purposes. This service will be faster and more secure. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the telephone contracts, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. NEW HIRE Police Chief Pavey asked the Board to approve hiring Rebecca Henry as part time clerk to be — effective November 20, 2001. Councilperson Frantz made the motion to approve hiring Rebecca Henry effective November 20, 2001, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. AUCTION Engineer Miller told the department heads that he needs their auction lists right away. The auction is scheduled for Saturday, December 1, 2001. There being no further discussion to come before the Board the motion was made by Councilperson Frantz to adjourn at 10:00 a.m., seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. rHo M Y R ATTEST: PCLEi T V SURER
