HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-13-2001 �, MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA NOVEMBER 13,2001 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a . and on call of the roll those members present Were: City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Frantz. Present were: Animal Shelter Director Keller, Building Commissioner Gavin, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Parks Director Rick Elliott, Police Chief Mike Pavey, Building Commissioner Gavin, Personnel Director Ellis, Fire Chief Mike Smith, Redevelopment Director Duggins, Engineering Coordinator Dixon, and Clerk Lynne Mayfield. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. EBRIDGE THE GAP Louisa Henson appeared before the Board in regard to the Bridge the Gap Run/Walk to be held on Saturday, December 8, 2001 at 7:30 till 10:00 a.m. downtown. She requested that Missouri Street, Market Street, Southern Indiana Avenue and the bridge be blocked off for this event. Councilperson Frantz made the motion to approve closing the streets, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. TIRE DAMAGE Lee Ewing, of 3505 Middle Road spoke about his car being damaged from hitting a manhole cover on Eighth Street: He said it would cost $300.00 to $400.00 to repair. Mayor Galligan told him to contact the City Attorney on the matter. RESIDENT PARKING Elizabeth Smith of 500 E. Market Street requested a resident only parking sign in front of her residence. Police Chief Pavey said he would check out the location and report back to the Board. CITY AUCTION Engineer Miller told the Board that the city auction would be held on Saturday, December 1, 2001 at EMC. Engineer Miller asked all department heads to have their lists to him by Friday, November 16, 2001 so the auction can be advertised. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, City Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn at 9:50 a.m.;seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
