MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
OCTOBER 29, 2001
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
Were: City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Frantz.
Present were: Planning and Zoning Director Jana Ecker, Animal Shelter Director Keller, Building
Commissioner Gavin, Wastewater Treatment Director Crawford, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury,
Parks Director Rick Elliott, Police Chief Mike Pavey, Street Commissioner Grant, Personnel Director
Ellis, Fire Chief Mike Smith, Redevelopment Director Duggins, Engineering Coordinator Dixon, and
Clerk Lynne Mayfield.
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson
Frantz and carried unanimously.
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 10-22-01 as presented, seconded by
Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
TIRE DAMAGE
Georgie Burch of 3314 B Riverview Drive appeared before the Board requesting reimbursement for a
tire that was damaged on her car when she hit a manhole cover on Graham Street where work is being
done on the street. After some discussion, Mayor Galligan told Ms. Burch to contact City Attorney
Galligan on this matter.
CITATION
Building Commissioner Gavin said several citations have been sent to David Covington for property at
123, 129, and 131 Chestnut Street for open storage. After discussion, Engineer Miller made the motion
to fine $25.00 per day until the problem is resolved seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried
unanimously. The City will cut the grass and clean up the storage and bill Mr. Covington accordingly.

There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, City Engineer
Miller made the motion to adjourn at 9:50 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried
unanimously.
