MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
OCTOBER 15, 2001
In Mayor Galligan's absence, Councilperson Frantz called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of
the roll those members present were: Parks Director Elliott sitting in for Councilperson Frantz, and
Planning and Zoning Director Ecker sitting in for City Engineer Miller.
Also present were: Safety Director Rodden, Planning and Zoning Director Jana Ecker, Animal
Shelter Director Keller, Parks Director Rick Elliott, Redevelopment Director Duggins, Fire
Chief Smith, Police Chief Pavey, Building Commissioner Gavin, Street Commissioner Grant,
Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, and Deputy Clerk Lynne Mayfield.
Parks Director Elliott made the motion to approve the minutes of 9-24-01 and 10-1-01 as
c, presented, seconded by Planning and Zoning Director Ecker and carried unanimously.
Parks Director Elliott made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by
Planning and Zoning Director Ecker and carried unanimously.
PARKING
Wayne Nolan, who now owns the Triangle Building at Court Avenue and Pearl Street appeared
before the Board in regard to parking problems at the building. He said he needs parking for
the business in the lower part of the building and resident only parking for the tenant upstairs.
Parks Director Elliott made the motion to approve two resident only parking signs pending
approval by Police Chief Pavey, seconded by Planning and Zoning Director Ecker and carried
unanim
PARKING LOT
Linda Williams, owner of the Old Bridge Inn at 131 W. Chestnut Street has requested closing
the parking lot next to her business between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. and requested a resident
only parking sign in front of her business from Pearl Street to the parking lot. Police Chief
Pavey recommended approving two resident only parking spaces and tabling the parking lot
closure for further investigation. Planning and Zoning Director Ecker made the motion to
approve two resident only signs and tabling the parking lot closure issue, seconded by Parks
Director Elliott and carried unanimously.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board the motion was made by Planning and Zoning
Director Ecker to adjournrnjnat 10:00 a.m., seconded by Parks Director Elliott and carried unanimously.
