OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
JULY 2, 2001
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
Were: City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Frantz.
Also present were: Safety Director Rodden, Planning and Zoning Director Jana Ecker,
Wastewater Treatment Director Traylor, Animal Shelter Director Keller, Parks Director Rick
Elliott, Redevelopment Director Duggins, Personnel Director Ellis, Administrator Rich Davis,
Fire Chief Smith, Police Chief Pavey, Building Commissioner Gavin, Street Commissioner
Grant, Wastewater Collection Supervisor Wright, Councilperson Merkley, and Deputy Clerk
Lynne Mayfield.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 6-4-01 as presented, seconded by
Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by
Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
PARADE PERMIT
Larry Caldwell of Wesley United Methodist Church requested a parade permit for September 9,
2001 from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the parade permit,
seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
PEDDLER PERMIT
Thomas Booker of Armor Security spoke to the Board to request a peddler permit to sell home
security systems door to door. Mr. Booker presented crime statistics which Police Chief Pavey
said are incorrect and objects to the use of incorrect information as a selling technique. After
some discussion, Engineer Miller made the motion to reject the request, seconded by
Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
CHAMPIONSHIP SIGNS
Ted Throckmorton asked that the word "boys" be added to the state championship signs. Mayor Galligan
said this could be done.

ICE CREAM TRUCK
Councilperson Frantz said a fire run was made to Bridgepointe Apartments at 9:30 p.m. on July 1, 2001
and he observed a black van used as an ice cream truck on Viking Drive with no lights on top. Mayor
Galligan asked Police Chief Pavey to contact the owner of the ice cream truck and inform him that he
needs lights on top to sell after dark.
LITTERING
Mayor Galligan spoke again about the littering problem in Jeffersonville. He asked that our police
officers be more observant to people littering.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board the motion was made by Councilperson
Frantz to adjourn at 10:20 a.m., seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
