OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
MAY 7, 2001
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
Were: City Engineer Miller and Counc_cperson Frantz.
Also present were: Safety Director Rodden, Planning and Zoning Director Jana Ecker,
Building Commissioner Bill Gavin, , Wastewater Treatment Director Traylor, Animal Shelter
Director Keller, Parks Director Rick Elliott, Redevelopment Director Duggins, Personnel
Director Ellis, Street Commissioner Grant, Administrator Rich Davis, Fire Chief Smith, Police
Chief Pavey, Wastewater Treatment Plant Asst. Director Wilkey, Motor Vehicle Supervisor
Ewton, City Attorney Galligan, and Clerk Lynne Mayfield.
RESIDENT PARKING
Marvin Miller of 932 E. Court Avenue spoke to the Board in regards to the parking problem in
front of his house. He would like to have two resident only parking spaces for he and his wife.
Police Chief Pavey will check out the location and get back with the Board. Fire Chief Smith
agreed with Mr. Miller on the parking situation.
REQUEST FOR EXTRA PATROLS
Nellie Knowland asked the Mayor for more police patrols in her neighborhood. She said guns
are being fired. Mayor Galligan said Chief Pavey would look into it.
SIGN REQUEST
Councilperson Frantz said that Councilperson Merkley is requesting either a"resident only" parking sign
or a"do not block driveway" sign at 215 W. Chestnut Street. Police Chief Pavey will check out the
location.

1416 AND 1418 FABRICON BOULEVARD
Building Commissioner Gavin said that an agreement has been reached with the client and the attorney for
1416 and 1418 Fabricon Boulevard. Councilperson Frantz made the motion to approve the agreement
(attached), seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board the motion was made by Councilperson
Frantz to adjourn at 10:00 a.m., seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.

1416 & 1418 Fabricon Boulevard
Violation 150.105 Exterior Maintenance
A. Numerous complaints in the past that can be verified in the folder
B. As of now siding, roof, gutters are in need of repair. (Pictures are
attached).
C. The property is often overgrown before it is cut.
II Recommendation:
A. An acceptable schedule of repairs to be presented to the Building
Commissioner within 30 days. Completion of all repairs by
September 1, 2001. y,aeo`
B. $100 a day fine should be assessed for each day of non-compliance
after September 1, 2001.
C. The fine should be totaled each month of non-compliance and paid
within 30 days.
D. If fine is not paid a lien will be placed on the said property and
recorded in the Recorders Office.
E. If the fine equals the fair market value of the said property the City
will take action to foreclose on the lien.

Violation GAR-675 IAC 12-4-12 (d)
A. Attached is a letter from attorney Vissing
B. Attached is a letter stating the position of the Building Commission.
C. Attached are building code and general administrative rules for
reference.
II Recommendations:
A. Electrical power to be disconnected immediately (condition of power
was to restore wall within 30 days).
B. Repair wall to a 1-hour rating sealing penetrations by a registered
builder.
C. If the firewall is not repaired by June 7, 2001 a fine of$200 a day
shall be assessed. The fine shall be totaled at the end of each
month of non-compliance and paid within 30 days.
D. If the fines are not paid a lien will be placed on the property and
recorded in the Recorders Office.
E. If the total equals the fair market value of the property the City will
proceed with legal action to foreclose on amount of lien.
F. The Building Commission request that the City Attorney obtain an
inspection warrant for the other occupancies, since it has been
observed that there are inoperable toilet facility and unsanitary,
electrical fixtures supported by live wires, holes in ceiling, etc.
