HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-16-2001 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA APRIL 16, 2001 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present Were: Parks Superintendent Elliott sitting in for City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Frantz. Also present were: Safety Director Rodden, Planning and Zoning Director Jana Ecker, Building Commissioner Bill Gavin, Wastewater Treatment Director Traylor, Animal Shelter Director Keller, Parks Director Rick Elliott, Redevelopment Director Duggins, Personnel Director Ellis, Administrator Rich Davis, Fire Chief Smith, Police Chief Pavey, Wastewater Treatment Director Traylor, Assistant Wastewater Treatment Director Wilkey, and Clerk Lynne Mayfield. �- PEDDLER PERMIT t Joanne Sullivan of 706 E. Court Avenue requested a permit to sell soda and candy products during the summer from her van. Mayor Galligan said the van has to be marked. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the peddler permit, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. BLANCHEL TERRACE STREET CLOSURE Planning and Zoning Director Ecker asked the Board to approve closing Blanchel Terrace on April 28, 2001 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for neighborhood beautification. Ecker requested barricades be set up for this. Engineer Miller made the motion to to approve closing Blanchel Terrace from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 28, 2001, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. ROAD CUT AT STONE CREEK Engineer Miller made the motion to give permission for a road cut at Stone Creek, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. APPROVAL OF CONTRACTS Engineer Miller made the motion to approve a contract contingent upon the City Attorney's approval with the Louisville Orchestra on July 10, 2001 and the Wind Symphony Orchestra on August 18, 2001 to perform on the Terrace Lawn, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. There being no further discussion to come before the Board the motion was made by Councilperson Frantz to adjourn at 9:50 a.m., seconded by Parks Superintendent Elliott and carried unanimously.
