OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
JANUARY 29, 2001
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
were: City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Frantz.
Also present were: Building Commissioner Larry Decker, Wastewater Treatment Plant Director Traylor,
Animal Shelter Director Keller, Safety Director Rodden, Administrator Rich Davis, Parks Director Rick
Elliott, Street Commissioner Grant, Redevelopment Asst. Director Duggins, Police Chief Pavey, Fire
Chief Mike Smith, and Lynne Mayfield.
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson
Frantz and carried unanimously.

Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 12-11-00, 12-18-00, 1-2-01, 1-8-01, and 1-
16-01 as presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
PEDDLER PERMIT
James Walter requested a peddler permit to sell children's books door to door no later than 8:00 p.m.
Councilperson Frantz made the motion to approve the peddler permit, seconded by Engineer Miller and
carried unanimously.
ARTS AND CRAFTS FESTIVAL
Yvonne Knight of the Howard Steamboat Museum said they will again hold the annual Arts and Crafts
Festival at the museum on May 19 and 20, 2001. She requested that the police department provide
security and street closing for the event. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve May 19 and 20,
2000 for the festival with police assistance, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
HANDICAPPED PARKING
Mayor Galligan asked Police Chief Pavey to check 228 W. Riverside for handicapped parking.
LLOYD POORE MEMORIAL
Mayor Galligan told the Board that the family of the late Lloyd Poore is putting together a memorial for
him. They would like it to be placed at the foot of Spring Street. Councilperson Frantz made the motion
to table this request until next week, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
113 W. MAPLE STREET
Mayor Galligan told the Board that the city wants to sell property at 113 W.Maple Street as excess
property for $20,000.00. The property is more costly to keep than to sell. Councilperson Frantz made the
motion to approve selling the property at 113 W. Maple for $20,000.00 because it is more costly to keep
than to sell, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
BITUMINOUS BIDS
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the request for bituminous bid form, seconded by
Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
127 LOCUST STREET
Building Commissioner Decker received a complaint regarding open storage in the front and rear yards
at this property. An inspection proved the complaint to be valid. There is also an abandoned school bus
in the rear yard. Both items are in violation of City Ordinance No.150.105. Mr. Art Roesser who resides
at 127 Locust Street appeared before the Board and said he knows that his property looks bad. He said
the street department has taken away some of the open storage. He said because of numerous health
problems it's hard for him to physically remove the storage. Mayor Galligan told Mr. Roesser that the
City is willing to help him in anyway it can and that the City will help him resolve his problem
concerning the open storage and the bus.

There being no further business to come before the Board the motion was made by Engineer Miller to
adjourn at 11:00 a.m. seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.

This office has received a compliant regarding open storage in the front and rear
► ' yards at the above-referenced property. A inspection proved the complaint to be
valid. Also there is an abandoned school bus in the rear yard. The open storage
and old school bus is a violation of City Ordinance No. 150.105.
All open storage and the abandoned school bus must be removed within fifteen
(15) days from receipt of this letter. A re-inspection will be conducted on or after
January 29, 2001. Failure to comply will result in a citation to appear before the
Board of Public Works and Safety at which time, fines may be imposed.
In the event you should have any questions regarding this letter or the above
mentioned violations has been corrected and you desire an immediate inspection,
please contact this office immediately. Thanking you in advance for your
cooperation in resolving this matter.

Specifications for the Surface mix are those ser forth in the Indiana Department of
Highway Standards Specifications Manual 1985. Copies of which are available in the
office of the Clerk/Treasurer, of the City Of Jeffersonville. Room 421, City-County
Building, 501 East Court Avenue, Jeffersonville, Indiana. 47130
The Bids shall be submitted on the Form prescribed by the State Board Of Accounts,
together with a properly Executed Non-Collusion Affidavit.
Bidders shall file with such Bids a Certified Check,or Appropriate Bid Bond.
Payable to the"City Of Jeffersonville" equal to 5 percent(5%)of the Bid amount.
The Right to Reject Any and All Bids is Reserved by"The City"
The Bids will be evaluated on the Basis of such factors as:
Reliability, Productivity, Cost Of Maintenance, and Services.

In the Event that the Projected Tonnage does not complete the Project, any additional
Tonnage needed will be Prepared.
