MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA

JULY 26, 2006
In Mayor Waiz absence, Engineer Miller called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll
those members present were: Fire Chief Miles sitting in for Engineer Miller and Councilperson
McCauley.
Also present were: Street Commissioner Ellis, Officer Fleeman, Planning and Zoning Director Hicks,
Building Commissioner Segraves, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Asst. Parks Director Couts, IT
Director Hardy, Wastewater Treatment Director Crawford, Personnel Director Calabro, Redevelopment
Director Cahill, Fire Chief Miles, City Attorney Merkley and Deputy Clerk Mayfield.
Councilperson McCauley made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Fire Chief
Miles and carried unanimously.

Councilperson McCauley made the motion to approve the minutes of 7 -12-06 and 7-19-06,
seconded by Fire Chief Miles and carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
MARCH OF DIMES STREET CLOSURE
Jenny Druscke requested that Spring Street be closed from E. Market Street to Riverside
Drive on September 23, 2006 from 8:30 am to 1 :30 pm. for the March of Dimes event.
Barricades will be needed as well as two police officers. Councilperson McCauley made the
motion to approve the closure pending police approval for funding of two officers, seconded
by Fire Chief Miles and carried unanimously.
LEASE OF COPIER
Fire Chief Miles made the motion to approve Judge Carmichael leasing a new copier and she
has the funds to do so, seconded by Councilperson McCauley and carried unanimously.
GROUNDBREAKING
The Ken Ellis Center groundbreaking is scheduled for Monday, July 31,2006 at 2:00 pm.
Everyone is invited to attend.
