AN ORDINANCE GRANTING AUTHORITY FOR THE PARKS AND
RECREATION DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR A CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department ha~ extraordinary funding needs
in terms of paying for services and goods for the benefit of the Department and;
WHEREAS, it is in the best inter~st of the City to have specific accounting control
in place; and
WHEREAS, said card is to be obtained upon the condition that the City of
Jeffersonville will not pay any accrued interest charges for the same and the procmement of
the card is merely for the convenience of the Parks and Recreation Department; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City
of Jeffersonville that the Parks and Recreation Department is authorized to obtain a credit
card upon terms and conditions it deems reasonable provided that no application for
reimbursement of interest charges, late charges, account fees, or any other service charges
are made to the Common Council for payment out of the General Fund of the City of
Jeffersonv21e nor any other account which is maintained by the Clerk-Treasurer, and that
any such charge will be solely the responsibility of the Parks and Recreation Director.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Jeffersonville that the Parks and Recreation Director shall be responsible for the proper
submission of a warrant for payment of charges incurred to said account.
