WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE
WHEREAS,
the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville has the aut
and responsibility to set the sewage usage rates for the Cit
Jeffersonville waste water treatment plant, and
WR~aLEAS, the Jeffersonville Wastewater Treatment Plant is often at or
design capacity for the treatment of municipal waste, and
WHEREAS, if the daily flow of waste begins to exceed the capacity of
current plant an expensive expansion would be required and,
the Common Council of the City of Jeffe~sonville wishes to p
the taxpayers of the City of Jeffersonville from a potentiall
large tax increase in the future to pay for expansion of the
existing treatment plant caused by the expansion of services
areas not within the corporate limits of the City of
Jeffersonville, therefcre not paying city taxes,
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE ORDAINED BY
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, TOWIT:
SECTION 1
There shall be no extension of municipal sewer lines beyond the
corporate boundaries of the City of Jeffersonville, nor shall the
waste derived by areas not within the corporate boundaries of the Citl
Jeffersonville be brought to the corporate limits and deposited into
existing sewer collection lines without a resolution by the Common Con
of the City of Jeffersonville.
SECTION 2
This ordinance shall be in
approval.
