Meeting Memorandum - September 20, 2004 - Mayor's Conference Room

Meeting called to order by:
City Council President Phil McCauley
Attendees:
Councilpersons Sellers, Grooms, McCauley, Wilson, Fetz, and Zastawny. Also present were Mayor Rob
Waiz, City Attorney Les Merkley, Clerk Treasurer Peggy Wilder, Deputy Clerk Suzy Bass and Deputy
Clerk Barbara Hollis.
Agenda Item 1: Budget Over Maximum Levy
Council President McCauley noted the proposed 2005 budget is now $83,000 over the
maximun~ levy. This does include some projected GAGIT revenue. The Police and Fire
Pension levy's are up over previous years. Most line items are less than the 2000 budget,
other than gasoline, insurances, salaries, and benefits. Council President McCanley noted
there are risks such as pending lawsuits and interest on loans that have not been budgeted.
The budget for 2005 .is without reserves for unforeseen circumstances. A flat raise as
opposed to the 3% increase in salaries was discussed. Councilperson Grooms asked that
$5,000 be added to the Council budget for the Beautification Committee. No opposition
was voiced.
Action taken:
None.
As there were no other items of discussion, the meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
