Meeting Memorandum - August 2, 2004 - Mayor's Conference Room

Meeting called to order by:
City Council President Phil McCauley
Attendees:
Councilpersons Sellers, Grooms, McCauley, Wilson, Fetz and Zastawney. Also present was Clerk and
Treasurer Peggy Wilder and Ckief Deputy Suzy Bass.
Agenda Item 1. Police Department Budget
Police Chief Ashabrarmer appeared before the Council to discuss his proposed budget for
2005. President McCauley explained to ChiefAshabrarmer that the City is very limited
in the amount of money it has to spend over last year.
Action: None taken
Agenda Item 2. Motor Vehicle Department Budget
Council President McCauley asked Commissioner Ellis what he feels is really needed as
far as equipment. Ellis said that the City is in dire need of a salt truck. He said that he
would make a list of his equipment needs.
Action: None taken
Agenda Item 3. Vehicle Maintenance Budget
Vehicle Maintenance Director Drary told the Council that his department needs a new
shop. They are still driving 1985 service trucks. He provides the fuel for everyone but
Sanitation and Motor Vehicle.
Action: None Taken
Agenda Item 4. Tax Abatement
David Duggins appeared before the Council asking for a tax abatement for Diamond
Billiards INC. They have agreed to hire three people, including an Engineer and two line
workers. He reminded the City that this was an existing business.
Action: No objections.
Council President McCauley reminded the Council of the Bridgeview Case mediation on
August 23, 2004. He encouraged all Council to attend.
There being no other items of discussion, the meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
