An Ordinance Amending the Zoning Code of the
City of Jeffersonville
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville believes it is in the
public interest to regulate sexually oriented businesses, and
WHEREAS, on April 5, 2004 the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville
adopted Ordinance No. 2004-OR-17, Regulating Sexually Oriented Businesses and
repealing the previously applicable Ordinance No. 1995-OR-35; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2004-OR-i17 defines the classifications of these land
uses and addresses issues such as licensing, location, and hours of operation; and
WHEREAS, the City Zoning Ordinance must be modified to reflect these changes;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE ZONING
ORDINANCE 2000-OR-61 IS HEREBY AMENDED AS FOLLOWS:
Article 7, Section 7.25 is hereby amended as follows:
7.25 Sexually Oriented Business Standards (SOB)
SOB-01: This Adult Use Standafds section applies in the following districts:
Sexually Oriented Businesses, as defined by the City of
Jeffersonville general Ordinance No. 04:OR-17, located or
proposed within th~ City of Jeffersonville's Planning and Zoning
Jurisdiction shall comply w/th all provisions of Ordinance No. 04-
OR-17, An Ordinance Regulating Sexually Oriented Businesses,
and its subsequent amendments.
Any signage proposed for sexually oriented businesses shall
adhere to the standards set forth in Article 7, Section 7.19 (PS-04)
of this Chapter.
Sexually oriented businesses shall comply with all development
standards generally applicable to the zoning district in which they
are located or proposed.
Article 14 (Definition), Section 14.2 (Defined Words) is hereby amended by
deleting the following terms and their definitions:
A. Adult Bookstore;
B. Adult Entertainment;
Adult Motion Picture Theater;
Adult Retail Store; and
E. Adult Strip Club
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval.
