HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-OR-1640 An Ordinance Annexing a Certain Tract of Contiguous Territory to the City of Jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF the City of Jeffer- sonville, Clark County, in the State of Indiana, that the following described tract of contiguous territory is hereby annexed to the said City of Jeffersonville. Beginning at a point on the Southeastwardly Right of Way line of Jeffersonville-Charlestown Pike where the line dividing Surveys Nos. 20 ~ 21 of the Illinois Grant to Clark County, Indiana intersects said Right of Way line, THE TRUE PLACE OF BEGInnING. Thence Southeastwardly along said dividing line to the cor~on corner of said Surveys Nos. 20 & 21, Thence Northeastwardly along the line dividing said Surveys Nos 11 & 21, 400 feet more or less to a point, Thence Southeastwardly 2300 feet more or less to aT. point on the Jeffersonville Corporation line, Thence Southwestwardly 1000 feet more or less along said Corporation line to a point on the line dividing said Surveys Nos. 10 & 11, Thence Northwestwardly along said Corporation line to a point on the Eastern Right of Way line of the B. & O. Railroad, Thence Southwestwardly along said B. & O. Railroad Right of Way, same being the Corporation line of the City of Jeffersonville, 7500 feet more or less to a point, Thence Southeastwardly along said corporation line 1500 feet more or less to a point, Thence Southwestwardly along said Corporation line 1400 feet more or less to a point, Thence Northwestwardly along more or less to a point, Thence Southwestwardly along said corporation line more or less to a point, said corporation line 650 feet 1235 feet Thence Northwestwardly along said Corporation line 1150 feet more or less and along the line dividing Surveys No. 1 & 8 to a point, on the East Right of Way of the P.C.C. & St. L. Railroad, Thence Northwestwardly crossing North Street and along said Corporation Line 120 feet more or less to a point on said Railroad Right of Way, Thence Southeastwardty along said Corporation Line 50 feet more or less to a point, Thence Northwestwardly along said Corporation Line 450 feet more or less to a point, Thence Northeastwardty along said Corporation Line 775 feet more or less ~ a point, Themee Southeastwardly along said Corporation Line 25 feet more or less to a point, Thence No~heastwardly along said Corporation Line 300 feet more or less to a point, Thence Southeastwardly along said Corporation Line 285 feet more or less to a point, Thence Southwestwardly along said Corporation Line 600 feet more or less to a point, Thence Southeastwardly along said Corporation Line 45 feet more or less to a point, on the B. & O. Railroad Right of Way, Thence Southwestwardly with the corporation line of the Town of Clarksville as determined by Clarksville Ordinance NOo 65-3127, dated April 9, 1965, to a point in the right of way of State Road 62 nearest the South abutment of the highway bridge leading to New Albany, which point is the intersection of such line and the East right of way line of 1-65, Thence Northwardly along said Highway ~I-65" Right of Way 10,550 feet more or less to a point at the intersection with the South line of Charlestown-New Albany Pike, Thence Northeastwardly along the Southern Right of Way line of said Charlestown-New Albany Pike 300 feet more or less to the line dividing Surveys Nos. 19 & 20 of the Illinois Grant to Clark County, Indiana, Thence Southeastwardly along the ~ividing line of said Surveys Nos. 19 & 20, 1000 fe~more or less to a point, Thence Southeastwardly 1600 feet more or less to a point on the Western Right of Way line Of the Hamburg Pike, Thence Southwardly along saidWestern Right of Way line of the Hamburg Pike, 3900 feet more or less to a point on the line dividing Surveys Nos. 9 & 19, Thence Northeastwardly along the line dividing Surveys Nos. 9 & 19~ to the intersection with the Jeffersonville Corporation line at the Southeast corner of Hamburg Pike and the Old Charlestown Road, Thence along the Northern Corporation line of the City of Jeffersonville, and in a Northeastwardly direction, same being along the Old Charlestown Road to a point on the line dividing Surveys Nos. 20 and 21, THE TRUE PLACE OF BEGINNING. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Common Council5 the Mayo~ and its legal publication.
