AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERii TREASURER
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, iNDIANA TO ~iKEA
TEMPORARY LOAN IN THE SUM OF SIXTY THOUSAb~DOLLARS
($60,000.00) FROM THE STATE OF INDIANA PAYING THE
CITY'S PORTION FOR MAKING SURVEYS~ STUDIES, PRE-
LIMtNARY PLANS AND ESTIMATED COST FOR SEWERS AND A
SEWER TREATMEh~ PLAh~ IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE,
CLARLK COUNTY, STATE OF INDIAb~.
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, by and through
its Board of Public Works and Safety desires to make surveys,
studies, preliminary plans and cost estimates for the construction
of new sewers, interceptor lines and a new sewage treatment
plant and
W/qEREAS, the Department of Public Works and Safety of the
City of Jeffersonviile is without funds to pay for the cost to
make such studies and preliminary plang, and
W}IER~S, there is now availah~ from the State of Indiana
certain loan funds for the purpose of paying the cost of preparing
surveys, plans and specifications for Said new sewers, interceptor
lines and a new sewage treatment plant, and
kRIEREAS, application has been made by the Board of Public
Works of the City of Jeffersonvitle, Indiana, to borrow the funds
necessary for making said surveys, studies, preliminary plans
and estimated cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, as follows:
Section 1. That the City Clerk Treasurer is hereby authorized
and empowered to negotiate a temporary loan in a sum not to
exceed sixty thousand ($60,000.00) dollars from the State of
Indiana or the proper loan agency for a period of not to exceed
three (3) years, and said City Clerk Treasurer is hereby authorized
to execute such loan warrants or other evidence of indebtedness
that may be necessary to secure said loan.
Section 2. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that a special fund
for Sewer and Sewage Treatment Planning is hereby created and
said funds shall be credited to this fund.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Council and approval by the
b~yor.
