HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-OR-1672ORDINANCE NO. '/~ 7 ~, An Ordinance Authorizing The Sale of Certain Park Department Real Estate and Fixing Terms Of Such Sale. WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners of the Department of Parks and Recreation of the City of Jeffersonville is the owner of certain real estate hereinafter described, and which real estate it desires to sell in order to use the proceeds from such sale to purchase other and better park land, and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of such Commissioners that it is to the best interest of the.City and the Citizens thereof to sell such land, and WHEREAS, such Board has requested the Common Counc!lto authorize such sale and further has requested that such sale be for cash to the highest and best bidder and for not less than the full appraised value. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL of the City of Jeffersonville that the Board of Commissioners of the Department of Parks and Recreation of the City of Jeffersonville be, and they are hereby, authorized to sell the following described real estate, to-wit: Being part of Block No. 126, more particularly described as follows: From the southwest corner of said Block No. 126, which is also the intersection of the northwesterly line of Eleventh Street with the northeasterly line of Locust Street, measure north- easterly along said northwesterly line of Eleventh Street 130 feet shall be given as provided by statute and the date for the receiving of such bids shall be at least 30 dgys after publication of the to the point of beginning; thence deflecting 90° to the left measure northwesterly alongthe northeasterly line of the parcel of land described in deed dated July 22, 1949, from the Louisville & Jeffersonville Bridge and Railraod Company to Sunshine Biscuits, Inc., recorded in Book 163, Page 387, of the deed records of said County, a distance of 265 feet to a~point that is distant easterly 8 feet as measured at right angles from the~center line of Track List No. 73;tthence northeasterly, in part parallel and in part concentric with said Track List No. 73, and distant southeasterly 8 feet as measured at right angles or radially from said center line, a distance of 250 feet,nmre or less, to a point in the southwesterly line of Walnut Street; thence southeasterly along said southwesterly line of Walnut Street a distnace of 370 feet, more or less, to the intersection of said southwesterly line of Walnut Street with the northwesterly line of Eleventh Street; thence southwesterly along said north- westerly line of Elwenth Street 226.3 feet to the point of beginning; containing 72,700 square feet, more or less. Also, Being part of Lot No. 108, more particularly described as follows: From the southeast corner of said Lot No. 108 measure north- westerly along the southwesterly line of Mulberry Street 50 feet to the point of beginning; thence northwesterly continuing along said southwesterly line of Mulberry Street 30 feet; thence deflecting 90° to the left measure southwesterly 120 feet to the northeasterly line of an alley; thence measure southeasterly along the northeasterly line of said alley 26.5 feet, more or less, to a point in the southerly line of said Lot No. 108, being also in the northerly line of an alley; thence measure easterly abng the northerly line of said alley a distance of 8 1/2 feet, more or less, to a point that is distant southeasterly 30 feet as measured at right angles from Course 2 oWc~all 2 of above described; thence northeasterly parallel with Call 2 above a distance of 112 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning, containing 3,590 square feet, more or less. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the Cow, on Council that such sale be for cash, for not less than the full appraised value of such land, The sale shall be by sealed bid and notice of such sale shall be given as provided by statute and the date for the receiving of such bids shall be at least 30 drys after publication of the first notice. This ordinance shall be in full force and ef~ct from and after its passage and approval. Passed and adopted by the Common Council this .day of July, 1966.
