WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville is in dire need of
additional equiptment for the purpose of controling and fighting
fires, and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in that such equipment should
be procured as soon as the same possibly can in order to provide
the Fire Department of this city with adequate means to protect
the citizens and their property in the city.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Cormnon Council of the
City of Jeffersonville that the Board of Public Works of said
city is hereby authorized and directed to irmnediately adverti~3e
and receive bids and upon the receipt of same to lease with
option to purchase two (2) fire engines for the Fire Department
of said city, one to be a 1888 gal. per minute pumper, and the
other a anorkel type pumper with basket lift and other and proper
equipment for the fighting of fires and rescue operat~ns.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville
this 4th day of January, 1965.
