PCHEREAS, heretofore the celebration of Halloween has created
many difficulties, and
WHEREAS, in the interest of all the people of the City and
the surrounding communities, the Superintendent of the Department
of Parks and Recreation met with a lay committee of the city
in order to set out rules governing Halloweenn activities and,
WHEREAS, such lay c~rmittee has made certain recommendations,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Citizens of Jefferson~
ville, in the interest of all, be requested to adhere to the
following rules:
t. That Holloween celebration be limited to two nights.
2. That children 14 years of age and older refrain from
wearing masks while traveling about the streets.
3. Beggers night be limited to ghe night preceding Halloween
between the hours of 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
4. That groups soliciting in behalf of LINICEF do their
home vzSltln~ two nights previous to Halloween and refrain from
wearing masks.
5. That in those years that Halloween falls on Sunday or
Monday the celebration be on the Saturday night before.
BE IT FURTIfER RESOLVED that all parents, children and others
involved in the celebration of Halloween assist the Department
of Recreation and the city in general by adhering to these rules
and that this resolution be given sufficient publicity in order
that all may be fully cognizant of the matters herein set forth.
Adopted by the Commnn Council of the City of Jeffersonville,
