HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-R-01RESOLUTION NO. 66-1 OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON- VILLE, CLARK COUNTY, INq)IANA. WHEREAS, there has been discussion amongst the leaders of our country relative to the possibility that users fees and fuel tax, fees may be applied to users of the Inland Waterways of America, and WHEREAS, this is against the tradition of this country and it is specifically injurious to the economic well being of this cormnunity, state and nation, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL of the City of Jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana, that it is opposed to any users fees and fuel taxes being placed upon the users of the Inland Waterways of this country and that copies of this resolution be forwarded to our senators and our representative in order that they might know that this Council believes in the maintenance of a policy that continues the concept that the waterways shall forever be free. Duly passed by the Common Council of the City of Jeffer- sonville, Indiana, this 3rd day of January, 1966.
