R-2 Residential to I-2 General Industry.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Jeffer-
sonville, Indiana, that. the zoning ordinance, being Ordinance
No. 1527, be amended in that the property hereinafter described
is reclassified and rezoned from R-2 Residential to I-2 General
Industry, said property being described as follows, to-wit:
Ail that part of the following descried real estate that
lies within the City of Jeffersonville:
Being a part of Lot No. 14 of Kirby's Subdivision of a
part of Survey No. 8 of the Illinois Grant, as the same
appears of record in Plat Book 3, page 35, in the office
of the Recorder of Clark County, Indiana, and being more
particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point
on the south line of Lot No. 14, said point being N. 89°
27' E. 151 feet from the southwest corner of said Lot No.
14 at the northeast corner of Spring Street (Hamburg Pike)
and Peaceley Street; thence N. 89° 27' E., along th~south
line of said Lot No. 14 and the north line of Peac4ey
Street, 243 feet to a point, said point being the south-
west corner of the tract of land acquired by William K.
Sorg (now deceased) by deed dated FebrUary 20, 1952, and
recorded in Deed Record 176, page 4, in the Recorder's
Office aforesaid; themce with the Westerly property line
of the William Sorg tract as aforesaid N. ~ 33' W. 400.9
feet (calculated to be N. 0~ 32' 21" W. 401,7 feet) to
an iron pin at the northwest cornerof the WilliamK.
Sorg tract as aforesaid; thence S. 66° 49' W. 245.5 feet
to a point; thence S. 2° 31' W. 307.59 feet to the place
of beginning, containing 1.962 acres, more or less.
Being all of the same land conveyed to Hurley Company at
Deed Record 229, page 222, and which real estate has been
surveyed by Joseph W. Jacobi and pursuant to sai4 survey
is further described as follows:
Being a part of Lot No. 14 of Kirby Subdivision of a part
of Survey No. 8 of the Illinois Grant as the same appears
of record in Plat Book 3, page 35, in the office of the
Recorder of Clark County, Indiana, and being more parti-
cularly described as follows: Commencing at an iron pipe
which marks the east line or.the HambUrg Pike and the
north line of Peaceley Street; running thence S. 84°
05~91E. 151.0 feet with the north line of Peaceley Street
to a concrete monument; thence N. 8° 45.2' E. 301.26 feet
with the lines of Seay, Perkins and-Summers to a concrete
monument in the northerly line of said Lot No. 14 of Kirby
Subdivision; thence with said northerly line of Lot No. 14
N. 71° 53.3' E. 245.50 feet to an iron pipe, William K.
Sorg's northwest corner; thence S. 5° 29.0' W. 400.79 feet
with Sorg's west line to the north line of Peaceley Street;
thence with the north line of Peaceley Street N. 84° 05.9'
W. 242.16 feet to the true place of beginning and containing
1.871 acres of land.
And also, all of Block No. 9, Claysburg, in the City of
Jeffersonville, consisting of Lots No. 97 through 108 inclusive,
as the same appears of record in Plat Book 3, page 30 of
the Clark County, Indiana, records. Said Block No. 9 is
bounded on the north by Peaoeley Street, on the East by
West Street, on the south by a 10 foot wide alley, and on
the west by Green Street.
This Ordinance shall be in full'force and effect from and
after its passage and approval.
