WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville,
Indiana, did on March 5, 1965, adopt a concurrent resolution
together with the County Council of Clark County, Indiana,
and the Board of Commissioners of Clark County, Indiana, authorizing
the creation of the Jeffersonville-Clark County Building Authority;
and,
WHEREAS, said Jeffersonville-Clark County Building Authority
did, with the approval of the aforesaid City and County authorities,
determine the space requirements for said local governmental
taxing units; and~
WHEREAS, the Jeffersonville-Clark County Building Authority
does not have the necessary funds to defray the expenses of advance
planning of office facilities for said governmental units; and,
WHEREAS, said City does not have the necessary funds available
to advance to the Jeffersonville-Clark County Building Authority
for advance planning expenses; and,
WHEREAS, in order to provide for said advance planning expenses,
it will be necessary for said City to apply for a Fifty-Thousand
($50,000.00) Dollar loan from the Industrial Development Fund
of the State of Indiana, created by the Acts of 1965, Chapter
186 of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, to be repaid
from city tax funds, if necessary;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That Richard L. Vissing,
Mayor of the City of Jeffersonville, Clark County, State of Indiana,
be and he is hereby authorized to make application on behalf
of Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the Industrial Development Fund
of the State of Indiana, pursuant to the Acts of 1965, Chapter 186,
of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, for a loan
in the sum of Fifty-Thousand ($50,000.00) Dollars, to be repaid
from city tax funds, if necessary; and,
Be It Further Resolved that the proceeds of said loan shall
be used to defray the expenses of advance planning of office
facilities for the proposed City-County Building to be erected
by said Jeffersonville-Clark County Building Authority; and,
Be It Further Resolved that said Jeffersonville-Clark
County Building Authority be required to give written assurances
to the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana,
that said advance planning funds will be repaid to Jeffer~onvi!~e,
Indiana, promptly if and when sufficient funds become available
to said Jeffersonville-Clark County Building Authority, through
the sale of bonds o~ otherwise.
