HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-R-21RESOLUTION NO. ~- ~-~/ WHEREAS, Chapter 298 of the Acts of the 1967 Indiana General Assembly and the Federal Water Pollution Control Act provide financial aid for the construction of sewage treatment works; and WHEREAS, The City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, herein called the Municipality, has plans for a municipal water pollution control project generally described as (1) Lift Station, Force Main, and Sanitary Interceptor; (2) Waste Treatment Plant consisting of pumping facilities, screening; grit removal; primary treatment tanks; aeration tanks; final settlers; chlorination facilities; digestion tanks and appurtenances; and (3) Plant Outfall Line, which plans are now complete, and the Municipality intends to proceed with the construction of such works; NOW,~'THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of Jeffersonville, Indiana, the governing body of said Municipality, as follows: 1. That Richard L. Vissing, Mayor of the City of Jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana, be, and he hereby is, authorized to make application for a grant from the United States Department of the Interior, Federal Water Pollution Contr61 Administration, and he is further authorized to execute and file on behalf of the City of Jeffersonville any ahd all documents pertaining to said application for a grant as may be requi~ed, and otherwise to act as the authorized representative for the Municipality in connection with said application. 2. That the Municipality agrees that if a Federal Grant and State Assistance for the Project are provided pursuant to Section 8 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, as amended (33 U-S.C. 446 et seq.), and Chapter 298, Acts of 1967 Indiana General Assembly, the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, will pay the remaining cost~ of the approved construction. 3. That all statements, data, and supporting documents made or submitted by the Municipality in connection with any application for Federal assistance for the proposed construction are to be deemed a part of the ~pplication for State assistance. 4. That the Municipality agrees to comply with the requirements of the Stream Pollution Control Board. 5. That certified copies of this resolution be prepared in quadruplicate to accompany an application for a grant for the construction of the municipal water pollution control project. Adopted by the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville, Indiana, this 4th day of November, 1968.
