Resolution Requesting the Corp of Engineers
OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY TO
Make A Flood Plain Information Study
WHEREAS, Public Law 86-645, Sec. 206, authorizes a
responsible local, governmental agency to request the Corp of
Engineers of the United States Army to make a Flood Plain
information study; and
WHEREAS, City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, herein called
the city, such a governmental agency, is subject to flooding;
and
WHEREAS, the city is desirous of identifying the areas
subject to flooding for planning and zoning purposes; and
WHEREAS, the city is desirous of promoting a park area
for the falls of the Ohio River; and
WHEREAS, the city is desirous of preventing future
flooding of the areas in said city;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of
the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, the. governing body of said
city, that the Corp of Engineers of the United States Army be
requested to make a Flood Plain information study of said city,
together with a similar study of Clark County, Indiana, and all
other towns or cities as request it.
This Resolution duly adopted this ~I day of ~' ·
1968 by the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville,_Indiana.
