HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-R-13 RESOZ IO WHEREAS, it has become highly desirable that an additional point of egress be provided from Interstate Route 65 into the City of Jeffersonville and, WHEREAS, the approval for such an exit ramp has been obtained from the U. S. Bureau of Public Roads and, WHEREAS, the Indiana State Highway Commission has agreed with the City of jeffersonville to co-operatively join together in the construction of such facility and, WHEREAS, it has been determined that the approximate costs of such a joint construction would be $223,000. The actual costs thereof to be apportion between the City and the State of Indiana with the Highway Commission paying the costs of the project within the present right-of-way limits of I.R. 65 and, the City paying the costs of the project beyond the limits of I.R. 65 and, WHEREAS, the State has agreed that the preliminary engineering will be done by the State Highway Commission, the City hereby agrees that the rights-of-way beyond the limits of that existing on Interstate Route 65 will be made available by the City and the City further agrees that it will reimburse the State Highway Commission for the City's portion of its construction cost. BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville that the Mayor be, and he hereby is authorized to agree with the State Highway Commission to the conditions in this resolution set out and further recorded in a memorandum of intent dated June 28, 1968 and executed by Robert S. Whitehead, Chairman of the Indiana State Highway Corm~ission and Richard L. Vissing, Mayor of the City of jeffersonville and attested by the Secretary of the Highway Commission and the Clerk- Treasurer of the City. Duly adopted by the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville this 8th day of July, 1968. ATTEST: -- LERE- SU
