AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A DEED
FOR THE PURPOSE OF CORRECTING A DESCRIPTION OF A
TRACT OF LAND HERETOFORE CONVEYED TO THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, purchased
a tract of land 23 feet in width and particularly described
thus:
A part of Lot No. 13 in Block No. 79 in the Enlargement
of the City of Jefferson~ille; Beginning at the south-
east corner of said Lot No. 13; thence northwardly with
the line of Wall Street 23 feet to a stake and extending
back at right angles the same width 166.2 feet to the
line of the alley.
and
WHEREAS, the desqri~tion should have read thus:
Part of Block No. 79 in the City of Jeffersonville,
bounded as follows: Beginning at a point on Wall
Street of said City, 95 feet southwardly from the
northeast corner of said Block No. 79; Cunning thence
southwardly along Wall Street 23 feet to a stake;
thence at right angles westwardly 166 feet to an alley;
thence at right angles North 23 feet to a stake; thence
at right angles eastwardly 166 feet to the line of Wall
Street, the place of beginning.
and
WHEREAS, Tract 1 is now titled under the name of the Department
of Redevelopement and Tract 2 in the name of the Civil City and
WHEREAS, the reverse conveyances of the above described
tract should have been made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of Jeffersonville, Indiana:
That the Mayor and Clerk Treasurer be authorized to accept
a deed for the proper tract from the Department of Redevelopment
and in turn execute and convey to such Department a deed conveying
that tract to such ~epartment which it should properly own.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
after its passage and approval.
