Court Avenue Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130 Robert L. Waiz, Jr. Mayor February 23, 2004 City Council Members 501 E. Court Ave. Jeffersonville, In. 47130 Dear City Cotmcil Members, I am requesting an amendment to the current budget for the Personnel Department. My Employment with the City of Jeffersonville began January 12, 2004. Since that time measures have been taken to comply with a variety of regulations. As a result of working toward compliance in several areas, mining materials have been purchased and training sessions have been attended. In an effort to maintain the integrity and professionalism of the department a conference table with chairs was purchased for the office. This allows for individual meetings with employees and others in a professional yet comfortable manner. New lateral file cabinets have been purchased to acconunodate the separation of personnel records from medical records. A Human Resources software package has been purchased that will provide the opportunity and capability to track required and valuable employee information on the desktop. Several training manuals have been purchased as well as membership fees to several Human Resources organizations. With the aforementioned purchases and a desire to move the department forward with additional resources and training, the current budget is not sufficient to cover the necessary costs for the department. I am requesting that the $2600.00 currently budgeted for longevity pay be reallocated in the following manner to allow for additional purchases and training that will be necessary within the calendar year. An equal opportunity employer. $1250.00 Seminars $700.00 Office Supplies $I00.00 Travel/Mileage $300.00 Books/Manuals $250.00 Subscriptions Your approval of this request is sincerely appreciated. If you should have further questions regarding my request I will be available at the council meeting on March 1, 2004. Thank you in advance for your consideration of this request.
