A Resolution Concerning Emergency Telephone
Number 911
WHEREAS, the matter of the proposed national emergency telephone
number of 911 was discussed by the council and mayor with representatives
of the Bell Telephone System and
WHEREAS, it was concluded that it would be in the best interest
of the public in general for the city to authorize when it becomes
available the emergency calling system known as Number 911.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Mayor be authorized
to notify the telephone company that Jeffersonville will participate
in such emergency system and assume the costs involved with so doing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution
be delivered to the appropriate official of the Indiana Bel& Telephone
System.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville,
