WHEREAS, pornography has become widespread in our community
and our nation, and
WHEREAS, it is the belief of the members
of jeffersonville, Indiana, that pornography
of the Common Council
is harmful to the
spiritual and moral well-being of its members, the community and our
nation, and in particular the well-being of our nation's youth, to
whom such material is being made readily available, and
WHEREAS, the Common Council wishes to express its firm opposition
to pornography and its firm support of those persons and organizations
who are devoting their time and efforts to actively combat pornography,
in our community and elsewhere,
BE IT .RESOLVED, that the Common Council of jeffersonville,
Indiana, express, and it kereb~ does express, its firm opposition to
pornograph~ in our community and our nation and to those persons,
organizations or elements who make such material available in our
society, and its firm opposition in particular to the availability
of pornogaphic material to the youths of our community and nation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said Common Council express and it
hereby does express its firm support, both Physical and in spirit,
of those persons and organizations who are devoting their time and
effortS to rid our community and our nation of ~uch pornographic
materials, through the Courts and otherwise.
