An Ordinance prohibiting maltreatment of Police Dogs:
SECTION ONE
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
Jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana, that it shall be unlawful for
any person to willfully or maliciously torture, torment, beat, kick,
strike, mutilate, injure, disable or kill any dog used by the Police
Department of the City of jeffersonville in the performance of the
functions or duties of such department, or to interfere with or meddle
with any such dog while being used by said department or any member
thereof in the performance of any of the functions or duties of
said department or of such officer or member. Any person who shall
violate any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty
of an offense.
Any person found guilty of any offense set out in Section One
hereof shall be punished as provided in S~ction 1-10 of the City Code
of the City of jeffersonville.
Duly adopted by the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville,
